Respon Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Terong Ungu (Solanum melongena L.) dengan Penggunaan Berbagai Jenis Mulsa dan Sistem Tumpangsari dengan Selada
Abstract
The use of mulch is useful to protect the soil surface from exposure to rain, erosion and maintain moisture, structure, soil fertility and inhibit the growth of weeds (weeds). This study aims to obtain the effect of using various types of mulch with intercropping planting systems, so that it can help increase the growth and yield of eggplant plants. The research was conducted at Campus II of Singaperbangsa University of Karawang, Pasirjengkol Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, West Java Province. The method used was a single-factor Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 10 treatments and 3 replications, resulting in 30 experimental units consisting of: A (Monoculture + No Treatment), B (Monoculture + Straw 10 tons/ha), C (Monoculture + Husk 10 tons/ha), D (Monoculture + Sawdust 10 tons/ha), E (Monoculture + MPHP), F (Intercropping + No Treatment), G (Intercropping + Straw 10 tons/ha), H (Intercropping + Husk 10 tons/ha), I (Intercropping + Sawdust 10 tons/ha), J (Intercropping + MPHP). The results of the experiment were tested with the F test, if the effect is real then it will be tested further Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the treatments significantly affected the growth and yield of eggplant plants. Treatment J gave the highest results for plant height (41.38 cm), gave the highest results for fruit weight per plot (1,788.67 grams), and treatment E (monoculture + MPHP) gave the highest results for the number of leaves (23.50 strands), fruit weight per sample (178.17 grams), number of fruits per plant (4.00 seeds), fruit length (20.03 cm), fruit diameter (45.99 cm).
