Aplikasi Pupuk Organik Cair sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Produksi Tanaman Sawi (Brassica juncea L.)
Abstract
The research was motivated by the increasing demand for mustard greens in Indonesia and the need for environmentally friendly fertilization alternatives to replace excessive use of chemical fertilizers that harm soil fertility. This study aims to examine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) application on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.).The experiment was conducted in a community field in Deli Serdang Regency using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five levels of LOF concentration (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 cc/l). Observed parameters included marketable fresh weight per sample, yield per plot, and harvest index. The results showed that LOF application had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The 8 cc/l concentration yielded the highest results in marketable fresh weight (153.50 g), yield per plot (9.38 tons/ha), and harvest index (87.27). LOF proved effective in enhancing nutrient absorption efficiency, accelerating photosynthesis, and improving soil quality, thus significantly improving the growth and yield of mustard greens.
