UPAYA PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI GURU DALAM PENGELOLAAN KELAS MELALUI SUPERVISI AKADEMIK DI SD NEGERI 24 BILAH HULU KABUPATEN LABUHANBATU

Abstract


The purpose of the research is to improve teachers' competencies in managing classrooms through the academic supervision of the principal at State Elementary School 24 Bilah Hulu, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research was conducted based on a school action model carried out over 2 cycles. Data analysis was performed using a descriptive model on the aspects of: (1) ability to plan classroom management; (2) arrangement of the classroom; (3) seating arrangement; (4) placement of learning tools; (5) time management for learning; (6) application of school rules; (7) implementation of assessments; (8) determination of teachers' and students' roles in learning; and (9) utilisation of learning media. After the action research was conducted, the results indicated that: (1) classroom supervision can have a positive impact on the development of learning tools in schools; (2) The implementation of academic supervision carried out by school supervisors through research actions has indeed been shown to improve teachers' competencies in managing classrooms at SD Negeri 24 Bilah Hulu, Labuhanbatu Regency, as evidenced by the research results indicating a significant increase in teachers' abilities to manage classrooms in teaching from 46.48% to 83.97%, reflecting an increase of 37.49%; and (3) there has been an improvement in teachers' competencies in managing classrooms.
