Academic Collaboration and Local Innovation in Realizing Global Contribution
Abstract
This article discusses the importance of international academic collaboration as a strategic means of strengthening local innovation towards global contribution. In the context of educational globalization, cross-border cooperation between universities plays an important role in expanding research capacity, improving academic literacy, and accelerating the dissemination of knowledge. Labuhanbatu University, through the ULB International Academic Fest 2025 International Conference, demonstrates its active role in building knowledge networks through synergy with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this article shows that international academic collaboration is a driving force for local innovation oriented towards sustainable development, while also strengthening Indonesia's educational diplomacy on the global stage.
